Directions to Trade River lower “Day Use Area” from Forest Lake:
Take Hwy. 8 and go north/east to St. Croix Falls, Wisconsin. Just after crossing over the bridge into Wisconsin, turn left (north) onto Wisconsin Hwy. #87. Go north approximately 14 miles (past the town of Cushing). Turn left (west) onto Evergreen Avenue. Stay on Evergreen and go approximately 4.5 miles. On the left side of road, just before you cross over the Trade River bridge, is the entrance to the Trade River Day Use Area (the OLD campground), which is now just for day riders (no overnight camping allowed). Each rider needs to have a Wisconsin trail pass. For more fee amounts & information visit Wisconsin Trail Pass. Each vehicle needs to have a Wisconsin vehicle admission sticker. If you choose to camp at the “new” Trade River Campground: Follow the directions above, but continue 1/2 mile (cross over the bridge) to the new campground. The new campground is just past 300th Street -- on the south (left) side of Evergreen (southwest corner of Evergreen Avenue & 300th Street).
