Scandia Riders Saddle Club Volunteering

HELP WANTED!
All club committees, programs, meetings, shows, events...everything... are run by volunteers.
If you are interested in volunteering for anything, just let us know, we could always use the help. Contact us at any events, through email or the facebook page.

Thank you for volunteering!!!   Here is a description of what each volunteer duty entails.

Announcer

• For pleasure announce the directions as given by the judge
• For games give the current number going in, on deck and in the hole 
• Announce placing at the end of each class
• Make special announcements as needed

Announcer Helper

• Retrieve and organize entry cards for the announcer

• Circle class placing at top of card
• Record times of timed events on entry cards
• Clip cards together at end of class; do not put them back into the envelopes.  File the cards in order of 1st place – 6th places.  It will help the person doing the highpoint awards

Office

• Process and file class entry cards in envelopes
• Collect entry fees (cash) and manage open checks
• Check membership status
• Check coggins paperwork and make copies of new coggins if needed
• Process new memberships if needed

Ringmaster/Judges Helper

• Communicate the judges directions to the trailer via walkie talkie
• Assist the judge in setting up patterns as needed
• Line up participants at the end of each class
• Communicate the judges placings to the trailer via walkie talkie

East Gate (large gate)

• Open and close gate for participants
• Hand out ribbons during game events

North Gate (small gate by trailer)

• Open and close gate for pleasure classes to exit
• Hand out ribbons during pleasure classes

Ring Crew

• Set up game patterns (use ring crew book for pattern and size diagrams)

• During games setup knocked over barrels, etc.

Backup Timer

• Time all game events for a backup time.
